Brown yarn, something a bit tweedy will look good, double knitting(US = between sport and worsted weight)Cream yarnRusset brown yarnLight grey/brown yarn (for head version 1) orLight grey/brown mohair yarn (for head version 2)Small amount of brown and white yarn or embroidery thread fornose and mouthStuffing1 pair 9mm black safety eyesTapestry needle3.5mm hook (US E hook)

Abbreviations:
ch = chainst = stitch or stitchessc = single crochet (US), double crochet (UK)hdc = half double crochet (US), half treble (UK)ss = slip stitchtog = togetherFO = fasten off sc2tog = decrease by working two sc together
Special stitches:
3 dc pop: popcorn stitch for toes. Work 3 dc into 1 sc, take hook outleaving loop, put hook through 1st dc & pull loop through.3 dc bob: bobble stitch for fingers. Work first part of dc 3 times into1 sc, leaving 4 loops on hook, pull through all 4.Wicket is made from the bottom up, mostly working in rounds. Donot join rounds, use a stitch marker to mark the start of a round - asmall piece of different coloured yarn placed under the stitch at thestart of the round will do. To start a round, you can use the magicring method, but I prefer (ch2, work 6 sc into 1

ch). If you workthe 6 sc over the tail of yarn as well you can use that to pull thehole tight.
Foot (make 2):
 Start with cream yarn.
Round 1:
Ch2, work 6 sc into 1
st
ch - 6 st.
Round 2:
2 sc in each st around - 12 st.
Round 3:
2 sc in each st around - 24 st.
Toes
(partial round) [3 dc pop in next st, sc in next st] 3 times.Change to brown yarn and reset the start of the round.
Round 4:
[sc2tog] 9 times, sc in next 6 st - 15 st.
Round 5 – 7:
(3 rounds) Sc in each st around – 15 st.
Left foot only:
 
Round 6:
[2 sc in next st] 3 times, [2 sc in next st, sc in next st] 6times – 24 st. FO, leaving a longish tail of yarn.
Right foot only:Round 6:
[2 sc in next st, sc in next st] 3 times, [2 sc in next st] 3times, [2 sc in next st, sc in next st] 3 times – 24 st. Do not FO.
To join feet together:
first mark the left foot at the 7

Head and ears – two versions:
This is the head I made the first time, which needs someembroidery to give the grey fuzzy face effect.
