Command leads you to take charge. Unlike some people, you feel nodiscomfort with imposing your views on others. On the contrary, onceyour opinion is formed, you need to share it with others. Once your goalis set, you feel restless until you have aligned others with you. You arenot frightened by confrontation; rather, you know that confrontation isthe first step toward resolution. Whereas others may avoid facing up tolife's unpleasantness, you feel compelled to present the facts or thetruth, no matter how unpleasant it may be. You need things to be clearbetween people and challenge them to be clear-eyed and honest. Youpush them to take risks. You may even intimidate them. And while somemay resent this, labeling you opinionated, they often willingly hand youthe reins. People are drawn toward those who take a stance and askthem to move in a certain direction. Therefore, people will be drawn toyou. You have presence. You have Command.

Excellence, not average, is your measure. Taking something from belowaverage to slightly above average takes a great deal of effort and inyour opinion is not very rewarding. Transforming something strong intosomething superb takes just as much effort but is much more thrilling.Strengths, whether yours or someone else's, fascinate you. Like a diverafter pearls, you search them out, watching for the telltale signs of astrength. A glimpse of untutored excellence, rapid learning, a skillmastered without recourse to steps-all these are clues that a strengthmay be in play. And having found a strength, you feel compelled tonurture it, refine it, and stretch it toward excellence. You polish the pearluntil it shines. This natural sorting of strengths means that others seeyou as discriminating. You choose to spend time with people whoappreciate your particular strengths. Likewise, you are attracted toothers who seem to have found and cultivated their own strengths. Youtend to avoid those who want to fix you and make you well rounded. Youdon't want to spend your life bemoaning what you lack. Rather, youwant to capitalize on the gifts with which you are blessed. It's more fun.It's more productive. And, counterintuitively, it is more demanding.

The Strategic theme enables you to sort through the clutter and find thebest route. It is not a skill that can be taught.
