At the March 18th generalmembership meeting, an item onthe agenda was the unsoliciteddelivery the
Examiner
newspaperto the neighborhood. The debateand any vote on whether to stopdelivery neighborhood-wide waspostponed until the May meetingbecause representatives from eachside of the issue were not available. The issue of unsolicited contacts of any kind was discussed andprovided below are some resourcesto help individuals control whatthey receive. While some may enjoyreceiving a free newspaper similarto the
Gazette
, the
Examiner
doesnot honor individual requests tostop delivery. Nevertheless, thecontact information is includedbelow. It also became clear that whilethe Glenbrook Village area getsfairly regular delivery of theExaminer (at least twice a week),other parts of the neighborhood donot receive it. If you do get it onyour block, please emailpresident@ebca.org so that we caninclude that street in the request tostop delivery if that is the decisionof the membership.

A casting agent asked me if I wanted to audition fora commercial right in the produce section of the Arlington Road Giant. After a callback auditionconvinced me that it was not a joke, a crowd of adagency people, directors, producers, and camera peopledescended on our beautiful neighborhood to shoot aspot featuring their brand of natural products. Theywere all uniformly impressed by Lynnbrook Park andthe close-knit, leafy simplicity of East Bethesda.Patrick Kanold and Judy Tso opened their home for“staging” along with their kitchen where nearly 40pizzas were cooked to sizzling perfection! Although itwas a long day, the kids had a blast and I learned allabout the fifty or so people it takes to make even athirty-second television ad. Thanks to everyone in theneighborhood for putting up with the extra cars!
