Ohio University students take home six Mark of ExcellenceAwards
Three to compete for national awards in August 
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Six Ohio University students were honored with the highest journalism awards inthe state last weekend. The Society of Professional Journalists – Region 4 Mark of Excellence Awardceremony was held in Columbus on April 4.

place, Breaking News Photography“We’re very pleased with the awards that Ohio University took home this year,” said Evan Millward,president of the Ohio University chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists (OU SPJ). “Thesestudents further solidified our university’s reputation as a leader in journalism education and trainingthroughout the state and the Midwest.”In addition to receiving top honors in the region, Schneider, Yesenczki and Fowler will have their workcompete against winners from across the country for national-level Mark of Excellence Awards to bepresented in August at the national SPJ conference in Indianapolis.Each year, the Society of Professional Journalists awards the best in student journalism with its annualMark of Excellence Awards.
