As we discussed in the beginning of the unit sex ed is a values driven topic. These issues are inherentlycontroversial themselves because although there are facts that may help you understand them ultimately you see these facts through theprism of your own perception (values, morals, upbringing, etc.). The sources listed are just a starting point, remember that any informationmay be biased and it is your job as an educated consumer to carefully analyze information for validity, reliability, and bias.
Goal:
Provide an analysis of the recent developments in reproductive health demonstrating an understanding of content specific informationnecessary to understand each issue (ie. What strains are protected against in the HPV vaccine, approved locations for the Safe Haven law).Complete each level (not just 1) working from left to right based on level attempted.

Does this promote promiscuity or should we take advantage of something that couldpotentially help us? It does give reliable sources for people who are sexually active tofall on but causes that person to not take responsibility for their poor choices. Even
though it takes the responsibility out of the person’s hands it still is good to have
because it allows help and a source of reliance for people.

Intended Use (Why people use it):Emergency contraception, or emergency birth control, is used to help keep awoman from getting pregnant after shehas had sex without using birth control or if the birth control method failed. If youare already pregnant, emergency contraception will not work. How close to failed / no contraceptives:(Time Frame ?) 72 hours

1.+ It allows for reliable source1.- Takes away responsibility2.+ Takes away room for failure2.- Promotes unprotected sex
Do You Need a Prescription?: no

Cost: anywhere from $10-60

3.+ allows another option beforeabortion3.- leads to diseases
Mechanism of action-how it works:
The sperm takes a few days to reach the egg so, just like daily birth control pills, thehormones keeps the egg from being able to attach to the wall, keeps eggs from releasing(stops ovulation), thickens mucus to hinder the sperms swimming ability, and makes theuterine lining inhospitable to a fertilized egg
Does this promote people not taking accountability for their choices or provide analternative to someone not wanting to get pregnant?

Yes it does, but it also gives you fall back plan on and it allows a chance of help.
Level 5:
