ANDHRA PRADESH RULESUNDER THE REGISTRATION ACT, 1908
1
 The following rules, which have been made by the Inspector-General of Registration tinder Section 69 of the Registration Act,1908, and which have been approved by the State Governmentare published for general information. These rules shall come into force throughout the State of Andhra Pradesh with effect from the 1
st
January, 1960 andsuperseded with effect from the said date, rules at present inforce.
CHAPTER IPreliminary
1.
In these rules, unless there is anything repugnant inthe subject or context.
(a)
"the Act" means the Registration Act, 1908.
(b)
"Section" means a section of the Act.
(c)
"Rule" means rule made under the Act for the time being inforce
(d)
"Appendix" means an appendix annexed too these rules.
(e)
"Registering Officer" includes both a Registrar and a Sub-Registrar.
(f)
"Government" means the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

(g) "Document writer" means and includes one who isengaged in the profession of preparing and writing of documents to be presented for registration.(h) "Licence" means a licence granted to a documentwriter under these rules.(i) "Licensing authority" means the licensing authority specified inRule 206.2. All such documents and maps shall, for the purposes of Sections 43and 48, be deemed to have been and to be registered inaccordance with the

CHAPTER IIOffice Hours and Holidays
3.
 The offices of all Registrars and Sub-Registrars shall be openfor atleast six and half-hours daily, Sundays and holidays excepted. The hours of working shall usually be those fixed byGovernment, from time to time These shall not be altered except with the approval of theInspector-GeneralA notice showing the hours of working of the office shall beaffixed in aprominent place in each office for the information of thepublic.
4.
A Registering Officer may decline to receive a documentfor registration if presented after
3.30 P.M
. when he hassufficient work to attend to after that hour in connection withdocuments previously admitted to registration.
5.
 The holidays to be observed in Registration Offices are theholidaysnotified by Government.
6.
A document presented for registration or a sealed coverpurporting to contain a will presented for deposit underSection 42 or an application for the withdrawal of such acover under Section 44 or a Power of Attorney brought forauthentication under Rule 49 shall not be accepted orauthenticated on an authorised general holiday except in aspecial emergency. When a Sub-Registrar accepts adocument or authenticates a Power of Attorney on such aday, he shall immediately make a report to the Registrar
