Foundation in Information Technology and Introduction to programming courses havebeen successfully completed with passing grades.
This course introduces students to basic understanding on multimedia designtechnology and some software tools commonly used for the interactive multimediacontents design. The course will provide students with basic skills and variousaspects and issues of the area of the multimedia design technology. Students will beintroduced to the essentials of Imaging tools (Adobe Photoshop for raster-basedimage and Adobe Illustrator for vector-based image), Interactive multimedia designtools (Adobe Flash) and trained in actual multimedia contents design andprogramming. The class will mostly be lectures, practical trainings and projects.

Students will be expected to acquire the basic skills of the multimedia contentsdesign. In addition to the lecture, students will be expected to do exercises and testto show that they understand. There will be weekly assignments, a mid-term projectand a final term project assignments.

The course will be conducted through lectures and practical training will be providedaccording to the textbook. Reports will be assigned as the course proceeds.Teaching assistants will be arranged to facilitate individual guidance during thepractical training. Please make an attempt to take notes whenever the necessityarises.The course will contain about fourteen lecture topics. The lectures will cover thefollowing topics:1. Introducing the Course-Understanding the course format-Reviewing the course objectives and prerequisites-Looking at the course outline2. Introduction to Digital Multimedia and Digital Media Tools-Introduction to digital multimedia: What is digital multimedia?-Introduction to digital media tools:-Macromedia Flash for animation and Interactivity-Photoshop for manipulating bitmapped images
