THAT THE FAVOR OF GODGROWS IN YOUR LIFE
By: Jorge Villavicencio
Introduction
In book of Esther, we have a God's favor history.According to the Jewish talmud king Jerjes wanted, before some drunk courtiers,to exhibit his wife Vashti, naked, with only the crown in her head. As the queendeclined, the king deprived her. Jerjes undertakes a search for a new queenthroughout the whole empire. Through providential acts that demonstrate God'sfavor, Esther is chosen as queen in Vasti's place.During the preliminary rounds of that beauty competition some aspects of God'sfavor can be seen:
I. THE GROWING FAVOR OF GOD
Proverbs 4:18 “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth moreand more unto the perfect day.” As the previous verse ex
presses, the favor of God can go increasing, as it happened to Esther:1. She had favor before the princess's royal guard:
Esther 2:9 “And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and
he speedily gave her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her,and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king's house:and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the
women.”
2. She had favor before the examining jury:
Esther 2:15 “Now when
the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of thewomen, appointed. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all them that looked
upon her.”
 3. She had favor of the Persian king:Esther 2:17-
18 “And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she
obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set theroyal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti. Then the kingmade a great feast unto all his princes and his servants, even Esther's feast; and

he made a release to the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the
king.”
II. GOD'S FAVOR WILL BE CHALLENGED
Chapter 3 registers Amman 's artifices of destroying the JewsEsther 3:8-
9 “And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people
scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of thykingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king'slaws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them. If it pleases the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talentsof silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it
into the king's treasuries.” Psalm 34:19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD deliverethhim out of them all.” Psalm 107:6 “Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and
he delivered
them out of their distresses.”

Juan 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have
peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have
overcome the world.”
Amman 's, the perverse courtier, lifts a reinforced testimony against the Jewishpeople before the King making him to sign a Jews extermination decree.
III. FASTING AND PRAYER INCREASE GOD´S FAVOR
Mardocai, Esther's cousin, finds out this serious danger and he requests her withsupreme urgency, that she intercedes before the king so that he cancels the evildecree. Esther replies him that there is a very strict protocol that prohibitsinopportune audience.
Esther 4:11 “ All the king's servants, and the people of the king's provinces, do
know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king intothe inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden scepter, that he maylive: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days .Mardocai encourages Esther to take a risk.
Esther 4:14 “For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall
there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; butthou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou
art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther proclaims a period of fasting.
Esther 4:16 “Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and
fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my
