REFLECTIONS ON LIFE
“Nobody is a nobody; nobody isunwanted. All are wanted by God,and therefore to be respected, protected and cherished by us,”wrote Father Richard JohnNeuhaus. Is this not the message of Christ’s dying and rising,—not just for certain people but for all?

FOOD PANTRYWesley House
, our local food pantry, for the second year in a row, has been given the opportunity to double any gifts of food ormoney donated to them during the months of March and April. Mr. Alan Feinstein, Cranston, RI, has announced that he will matchany donation of food or money contributed to Wesley House; they will receive $1.00 for each pound item or dollar. If you wish todonate by check, please make it payable to Wesley House and have “Feinstein” on the memo line.
For your information.
***Our parish has supported the Wesley House food pantry for years. It is a great way to centralize the distribution of food in ourcommunity. This eliminates the duplication of efforts. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wichita subsidizes the salary of a fulltime social worker, Alberta, at Wesley House. This is just one of the ways the Catholic Church provides assistance to those in needin the Pittsburg area.

PEW CUSHIONS
The new pew cushions have beenprovided through the courtesy andgenerosity of Louie & LillianPontello, former members of ourparish. Lillian died Dec. 30, 2000 atthe age of 82 and Louie died May17, 2008 at the age of 91. Theywere lifetime parishioners and Louiewas an usher at 5:30pm mass formany, many years. Because of illness and great pain Lillian had tobring a cushion to mass everySaturday evening so Louie said:“when I die I am donating a portionof my estate to the Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund and I wantsome of that money to be used forpew cushions.” He and Lillian wouldbe pleased to know that we nowhave comfortable seats. Our job andresponsibility is to take good care of the cushions — Please make everyeffort to treat them properly. Andpray for Louie & Lillian and all whohave contributed to the MemorialFund through their estate.
