Founded in 1885 as the Builders Exchange of Detroit and Michigan, theConstruction Association of Michigan (CAM)is the oldest and largestconstruction association in North America. Based in Bloomfield Hills,CAMis a not-for-profit organization supported by annual dues and service fees.CAMis governed by a 12-member Board of Directors, which is electedannually by over 3,400 member companies.CAM’s membership iscomprised of general contractors; specialty/sub-contractors; equipmentand material suppliers; and service firms (architects, engineers, attorneys,financial management, etc.).In January 2008,CAMacquired theTri-City Builders Exchange, also known asTCBX. Based in Saginaw, theTCBXhas had a proud history of providing quality member service for the Mid- and Northern Michiganconstruction community since 1955.TCBXhas officially become a divisionof the Construction Association of Michigan, and its members are receivingthe same member benefits available to allCAMmembers. The acquisitionofTCBXincreased theCAMMembership by over 200 firms and allowed allCAMMembers access to two planroom locations.
