COMMISSARY The Base Commissary in Building 401 carries a good stock of groceries and housekeeping items, fresh meats and vegetables on © non-profit basis. AFEX AFEX Facilities: Two types of Base Exchange facilities are available to authorized users in the vicinity of Phalsbourg Air Base. The Air Force Exchange has facilities at all Air Force installa- tions, while the European Exchange Service has facilities at all US Army Installations. At Phalsbourg, AFEX operates a Class “A“ facility and can furnish service for its customers with almost any desired item from toilet articles and notions to clothing. A new kiddie's department offers complete stocks of children's clothing. Many fine toys are available for children. However, roller skates, if desired should be brought from the States, since French and Ger- man roller skates are too wide to fit American shoes. Certain items ore limited due to storage space and display room. Anything not available can be speciol-ordered through any of the department heads.
