May 20, 2013 Re: Outdoor Heritage Fund appropriations in Omnibus Legacy bill (H.F.

1183) Dear Governor Dayton: We urge you to exercise your line item veto in the Omnibus Legacy bill (H.F. 1183) to veto the following two projects contained in the Outdoor Heritage Fund appropriations: 1. Metropolitan Regional Parks Wildlife Habitat Protection and Restoration Lines 14.8-14.18 2. Protect Aquatic Habitat from Aquatic Invasive Species Lines 16.15-16.23 During your gubernatorial campaign in 2009, you made the express promise to veto any Outdoor Heritage bill that usurped the authority of the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council by funding projects that did not go through the Council or cheated the process. The Omnibus Legacy bill that was passed by the Senate and House this session does not follow the recommendations of the LSOHC. The Metropolitan Regional Parks Project was not recommended by the Council and the Aquatic Invasive Species project never applied for funding through the Council. It is time to live up to your campaign promise to preserve the authority of the LSOHC and veto these specific projects. We thank you for your support and strongly encourage you to keep your promise to the voters to preserve the integrity and recommendations of the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council. Respectfully,
