 —The New York Hotel Trades Council (HTC), a labor federation representing32,000 hotel workers across New York, today announced its endorsement of lifelong publicservant Austin Shafran for City Council. The Hotel Trades Council’s endorsement builds on theShafran campaign’s growing and widespread support among the labor community and progressive organizations.Following endorsements by the Working Families Party, the NYC Central Labor Council, 32BJ,and Teamsters Joint Council 16, Shafran announced a slate of new union endorsements lastweek, including the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 3, CommunicationWorkers of America Local 1106, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 94, andPlumbers Local 1.“Austin Shafran will be a fierce advocate for working families in the New York City Council,”
