Charlotte, NC- Queens University of Charlotte is set to open up itsnew athletic facility, the Levine Center, at the beginning of August.Queens University of Charlotte began construction of the LevineCenter almost 2 years ago in order to replace the outdated OvensAthletic Center. The Queens University of Charlotte staff waits inexcitement for the opening and has big visions for all that it will dofor the athletics and student life at the school.The Levine Center will be a three story, 145,000 square foot building,which is a considerable upgrade from the former on-campus facilityat Queens University of Charlotte, The Ovens Athletic Center. TheLevine Center will be used for student wellness, recreation, andathletics. With this new facility, Queens University of Charlotte hopes
to provide its students with a top-notch experience, which will meetall of their health and wellness needs.The Levine Center offers facilities that include a new aquatic center, aperformance gym, a 5,000 square foot fitness center, a two laneindoor walking and jogging track, and studios for dance and fitnessclasses. The new aquatic center is an exciting feature for the QueensUniversity of Charlotte swim teams who just recently had 14swimmers be named to the NCAA All-American swim teams. Thealready successful Queens University swim team should only continueto improve when their state of the art facilities at the Levine becomeopen for use. On top of the new aquatic center, the QueensUniversity of Charlotte basketball teams our excited to have a newcourt for their 2013-2014 season after playing their past season atnearby Johnson and Wales University.
Queens University of Charlotte is very excited about having theLevine Center open. From students having a place to work out oncampus, to an increase in school spirit with the new on-campusfacilities, every student at Queens University of Charlotte should beable to find a way to use the Levine Center. When asked about theopening of the Levine Center, current Queens University of Charlottestudent Patrick Murphy summed up the excitement by saying, "TheLevine Center can't open up soon enough!"Queens University of Charlotte is a private, co-educational Universitylocated in South Charlotte.
