 Charlotte, NC- Queens University of Charlotte is set to open up its newathletic facility, the Levine Center, at the beginning of August. QueensUniversity of Charlotte began construction of the Levine Center almost2 years ago in order to replace the outdated Ovens Athletic Center. TheQueens University of Charlotte staff waits in excitement for the openingand has big visions for all that it will do for the athletics and student lifeat the school.The Levine Center will be a three story, 145,000 square foot building,which is a considerable upgrade from the former on-campus facility atQueens University of Charlotte, The Ovens Athletic Center. The LevineCenter will be used for student wellness, recreation, and athletics. Withthis new facility, Queens University of Charlotte hopes to provide itsstudents with a top-notch experience, which will meet all of their healthand wellness needs.The Levine Center offers facilities that include a new aquatic center, aperformance gym, a 5,000 square foot fitness center, a two lane indoorwalking and jogging track, and studios for dance and fitness classes.
The new aquatic center is an exciting feature for the Queens Universityof Charlotte swim teams who just recently had 14 swimmers be namedto the NCAA All-American swim teams. The already successful QueensUniversity swim team should only continue to improve when their stateof the art facilities at the Levine become open for use. On top of thenew aquatic center, the Queens University of Charlotte basketballteams our excited to have a new court for their 2013-2014 season afterplaying their past season at nearby Johnson and Wales University.Queens University of Charlotte is very excited about having the LevineCenter open. From students having a place to work out on campus, toan increase in school spirit with the new on-campus facilities, everystudent at Queens University of Charlotte should be able to find a wayto use the Levine Center. When asked about the opening of the LevineCenter, current Queens University of Charlotte student Patrick Murphysummed up the excitement by saying, "The Levine Center can't openup soon enough!"Queens University of Charlotte is a private, co-educational Universitylocated in South Charlotte. The school consists of approximately 2,400undergraduates and offers 39 undergraduate major programs with 80concentrations, and 19 graduate programs.
