Process Paper

My topic is the Battle of Hampton Roads. The reason why I chose it is because it is a very pivotal moment in history. I didn't do any research this time. I had everything I needed for the final which was nice. The battle between the USS Monitor and the CSS Virginia at Hampton Roads was a draw because neither ship was sunk but the Monitor changed naval warfare and ship design forever. It proved that the Confederate powerhouse, the CSS Virginia, could be stopped after it had steamrolled two union ships the day before. And it showed that the design of the Monitor was very effective and that an all iron ship could float and be functional. I made a few changes to my thesis statement so it would make a little more sense and so it would flow little more. It talks more about the impact on today and takes out the beginning of "technically" which kind of made it sound like I have a weak argument.
