The bottom of the pyramid talks about how to change the stigma that we have towardsthe very poor because they are really not helpless and uninterested in anything but surviving,but they too are value-conscious consumers. The book tackles alternative and innovative wayson how could companies like CEMEX serve the people at the bottom of the pyramid whileachieving profit, it also emphasizes the fact that there is really a fortune to be made at thebottom of the pyramid. And as stated in my quote, large scale and wide-spreadentrepreneurship is at the heart of the solution to poverty is true in my perspective because wecannot eliminate poverty by just helping the poor by donations or charities; they need a way of living and a steady income to support their daily needs. Like what Jesus said in the Bible, if a
man asks for fish, don’t just give him fish, teach him how to fish. I think t
his is what this book isaiming at and creates awareness on how to efficiently eradicate poverty by means of doingbusiness.By using innovative approaches in helping the poor, the companies using the BOPstrategy creates opportunities and also encourages self-esteem among them. As stated in thebook, the greatest harm that multinational companies does to the poor is by ignoring them, Ithink that this concept is very real because most people think that they are doing no harm toother people b ignoring them, but companies who provide products and services that cater to
people’s needs should also include the people at the bottom of the pyramid because they too
are people like us. In this chapter, I have learned a lot of things that I want to do when, and if I
