In our country fasting on aparticular day of a week andon religious festival is verycommon. Many Saidevotees also observefasting on thursdays in orderto seek lord Sainath'sblessings and for gettingtheir wishes fulfilled. Babanever gave any particularmethod for His worship.Baba never fasted Himselfand never allowed others toobserve fast. In this regard itis essential to refer the caseof Mrs. Gokhale in chapter32 and that ofone RadhabaiDeshmukh inchapter 28 &29 in 'Shri SaiSatcharitra'.Once Mrs.Gokhale,came to Shirdiwith a vow toobserve Fastfor three dayswhile sitting in Baba's feet.However when Mrs Gokhalereached Shirdi and sat atBaba's feet, Baba told herthat there was no necessityof fasting and directed her togo to Dadabhat's house andprepare a dish of puran poliand to feed his children andherself.Once Radhabai who wasmother of KhashabaDeshmukh, on hearingBaba's fame she came toShirdi with the people ofSangamner. She tookBaba's darshan and wasmuch satisfied. She lovedBaba intimately and resolvedin her mind that she wouldaccept Baba as her Guru,and take some updesh fromHim. She knew nothing else.She determined to fastherself unto death so long asBaba did not accept her andgive her upadesh or mantra.She stayed in her lodgingand left off taking food orwater for three days. Shedecided to fast unto death.Her resolution to fast untodeath reached Baba. Seeingher determination Babacalled her to change hermind by addressing her asfollows, 'Oh mother, why areyou subjecting yourself tounnecessary tortures andhastening your death, youare really my mother, and Iam your child take pity onme.' Baba always advisedmoderation in diet i.e. neitherfasting nor overeating. Babawas of the opinion that Godis never attained on anempty stomach. In chapter32 of Sai Satcharitra, underthe heading 'quest' WhenBaba alongwith others wasin search of Brahma on theirown, they met one Vanjariwho told them that no questcan be successfully carriedout on an empty stomach;do not discard offers of food.Served dish should not bethrust away, offers of breadand food should be regardedas auspicioussigns ofsuccess.Babaaccepted thehospitality ofvanjari asBaba thoughtthat it is thebest beginningof gettingknowledge,the moment lord Sainath ofShirdi accepted the loaf ofbread offered, ate it anddrank water, Baba's Guruappeared and stood beforeand who accepted Baba andmade him to attain BrahmaLord Sai Nath of Shirdialways transformed and istransforming his devoteesinto himself not only duringhis life time but even todayalso. We, the Sai devoteesmust first know as to whatadvise Lord Sainath gave tohis devotees and must try tofollow Baba's advise. ShriSai Satcharitra is the onlygranth which tells us aboutlord Sainath Himself andabout His teachings,preachings and advises topeople. Chapter 28, 29 and32 clearly give Lord Sainathof Shirdi's views on fasting.Keeping in mind, views ofLord Sainath of Shirdi, wethe devotees must not fastfor Lord Sainath of Shirdi.-Premendra Ojha ,Advocatevandana and presentedmany soulful bhajans. Every-one present there was fullyengrossed in his bhajans. Af-ter aarti bhandara (prasad)was served to all who werepresent there.It started atnoon after the Arti & cotinuedtill 4PM.The entire program wasorganised by Tikoo familywith the participation of manydevotees in making thisKakad aarti at 7 AM followedby Maha Abhishegam,Alankar & Archana. At 9 AMGanpathy Homam, NavgrahHomam, Shiva Homam, ShriSai Homam & Shakti Homamwas performed. AfterMadhyan Aarti MahaPrasadam was distributed.From 2.30 PM Sai naam jaapwas chanted for one hour.From 3.30 to 6 PM & 6.45 to8.15 PM Sai bhajan recitalwas organised. BhajanSamrat Saxena Bandhu ShriSurendra Saxena was in-vited for bhajans from India.A soulful recital of SaiBhajans was performed byBhajan Samrat ShriSurendra Saxena. He startedbhajans with Ganpatioccassion agrand success.The Tikoo familyis ardent devo-tee of Sai Babawho with the helpof Sai devoteesestablished thisShirdi Sai Wor-ship CenterSINGAPORE inFebruary 2008.done in SAI Temples in Indiaand all aartis are performedregularly by pandit ji. It so happened that I wasstruck by some unknownfear which was killing meeveryday, during that courseof time I was not eating foodI hardly use to eat only twospoons of rice and leave therest. This went on for fourweeks and I became veryweak. I have been to acounseller to ask what iswrong with me, he told methat I need to go to a psy-chiatrist and take somedrugs to calm my restlessmind. I thought of finishingmy life I just cried out thename of Sai Baba.. and tomy surprise he came for myrescue that very moment. Ileft for Shirdi as if Baba hascalled me. I went to ShirdiI want to narrate a experi-ence with Baba which wasseen by many devotees inKolkata. One could feelBaba's blessings and lovefor His Devotees.My mother's cousinsister's husband Mr. ArunKapoor, owner of AshokaHotel Howrah, was seriouslyill since January 2008. Hewas unable to eat becausehe had a tumor in his chest.Slowly he started losing hiseye site and was not able torecognize anyone, his bodyweight slashed to 40 kg from90 kgs and he was unableto stand, walk or talk prop-erly. He was treated by thebest doctors of Kolkata butthere was no improvement.All kinds of pujas were per-formed religiously by hiswife, family members andfriends but there was no re-sult. At last doctors sug-gested for surgery in Mumbaiby the best doctors avail-able. He was taken toLeelavati Hospital and wasadmitted for nearly a month.After surgery he returnedback to Kolkata. He feltslightly better and was recov-ering but suddenly after twomonths the tumor whichwas operated, erupted againat the same place. This timehis condition was evenworse. Again specialist doc-tors were consulted from allover India but they were sur-prised that how within twomonth the same complica-tions had started again. Atthis particular time I and ourmembers of Sai BabaBhajan Group visited him inhis house. Seeing his con-dition we all were very upset.Doctors were not surewhether he would recover ornot. We all were worried &concerned and our onlyhope was Shri SainathMaharaj. We all startedpraying to Sai Baba andgave Udi, Sai Satcharitra &Baba's picture to his wifeand requested her to put thatpicture just besides his bed.Every day she started apply-ing Baba's udi on his fore-head and started reading SaiSatcharitra every day.Within few days doctors de-cided to operate him againso they took him to Bombayonce again and secondtime his operation was morecritical and no one knewwhat will happen. After op-eration he was brought toCCU. His kidney stopedfunctioning, he was not ableto eat and speak. After onemonth they brought him backto Kolkata, but there was noimprovement. We all startedpraying to Baba for him. Weknew he is our saviour andBaba has said "tyaag shareerchala jaunga, bhakt hetuduara aaunga".Once again he was admit-ted in a Nursing Home ofKolkata where doctors saidthat only prayers and faithcan make him stand again. Iremember the day when Icalled my Bhabhi, she is atrue SAI Devotee, she said"we all are going to nursinghome to see him as doctorsaid that he can't say howlong he will survive.Hearing that I felt very sadand tears rolled out of myeyes. I remember very wellthat day was monday I wasgoing to my office so I de-cided to go first to DespriyaPark Sai Baba temple for of-fering prayers. I took fewsmall size Baba's pictureswhich were given to me byone Sai Devotee Mannu BhaiJust one day before in frontof Mullick Bazar Shirdi SaiBaba temple so I kept fewphotos for distribution to hiswife and son. I knew BABAis always there for his Chil-dren, He is our SadguruPARAMPITA. I reached at 11AM at the temple,but it wasclosed. In despriya park SAIBABA temple one thing isvery good that they have twowindows in front of thetemple even if the temple isclosed one can see Baba 24hours and take His bless-ings. With my folded hands Iprayed from the bottom ofmy heart to Sai Baba for thehealth & life of my uncle, heis only 52 years old and anice gentleman, after prayingto Baba I started searchingfor some Udi or Prasad. Buttemple was closed so I wasunable to get any kind ofprasad. I sat quietly on stairsof the temple and closed myeyes and started meditating.I was thinking about elevenassurance of Baba. As I fin-ished my prayer and medi-tation, I distributed few pic-tures of Baba to devotees.After that I started moving to-wards my scooter because Ihad to rush to nursing home.As I started walking towardsmy scooter suddenly ayoung girl whom I gave

Baba's photo who was sittingon the stairs of the templewhom I never seen in myentire life asked me "Bhaiyaaap Shirdi ka prasad letey jaiye" (Please take Shirdi'sprasad)She gave me prasad and afew red roses of BABASSAMADHI, it was fresh. It hadfew drops of water on it, Ithanked Sainath for Hisblessings. I went straight tonursing home and I wasshocked to see that every-body was crying because hewas on ventilator. By seeingthis situation & moment I dis-tributed all of my Baba'sprasad to every one presentthere and gave few flowersof Baba's Samadhi to hisyounger son and requestedhim to carry BABAS bless-ing which he has send inflowers to his father who wasfighting like a warrior to con-quer life.I requested him totouch these rose flowers onhis fathers head immediatelyand young boy without wast-ing any time, within secondsran towards CCU andtouched all the rose flowerson his forehead and kept oneBaba's picture there. We allwere very happy that BABAsblessings and protection hasreached from Shirdi for him.I thanked Baba again andagain.I left for my office. Again Icalled them in the afternoonand checked his situation itwas same. Next day when Icalled them I was cheeredwith happiness that he hasopened his eyes and therewas movement in his fingers.The same evening doctorsdecided to remove him fromventilator. After three days hewas shifted to room. It was amiracle. His wife startedreading Sai Satcharitra in thenursing home room and heuse to listen with full devotion.He started praying himself,few days passed he nowstarted eating light food andstarted talking to his visitors.With the Blessings of Babahe went home with smile onhis face and giving lots & lotsof thanks to Sai Baba.He came to our kirtan on 1/ 02/09 where he sat for onehour and invited our all mem-bers to perform kirtan at hishouse. We all Sai devoteeswent to his place on 8/02/09for kirtan where he took partas a pure SAI DAVOTEE andtook BABAS blessing. Onthat day Mahaprasad was dis-tributed to everyone. Theentire program was a grandsuccess. There he declaredthat he will provide us anyamount of iron to maketemple of Baba or any kindof support to build Shirdi SaiTemple. He knew that ouraim is to build Baba's uniquetemple in the city of Kolkatawith the blessings of SainathMaharaj. SAIRAM to all.

Recently I took my teenagedaughter for her annualdental examination. Much tomy dismay the dentist toldme that she wanted to talk tome since my daughter had awhite patch on her tongue. Iwas worried since a whitepatch can be a symptom forpre cancer. I prayed very hardto Sai Baba the everbenevolent and read Shri SaiSatcharitra in a week. I alsomixed a little Vibuti in waterand gave it to her every day.We took an oral biopsy andby Baba's grace the reportwas normal and there wereno abnormal cells. The new Prasadalayaconstructed by Shri SaibabaSansthan Trust, Shirdispending Rs. 25 crores hasreceived national level awardfrom National SecurityCouncil (NSC). ThisPrasadalaya had fulfilled allnorms of security systemlaid down NSC fromconstruction point of view.Raghunath Aher, ChiefEngineer of the Sansthanand Milind Joshi Dy. Manager,IVRCL accepted this awardin a function held at Mumbai.The award was handed overby Union Labour MinisterOscar Fernandis inpresence of Chairman ofNSC Anand Mahindra.Till now, the privatecompanies were getting thisaward. But, Sansthan hasbasically observed thenorms of NSC whileconstructing thisPrasadalaya on seven acreland. This project wasinaugurated by President ofIndia Pratibha Patil a fewmonths ago. But, more timewas required to install thegas and solar system.This building is theexcellent model of civilengineering. Its total built uparea is 84,000 sq. feet. Itssalient features are naturalfresh air and sufficientsunlight. About seventhousand devotees canhave food at a time. Thelatest machineries &equipments are installed inthe kitchen hall. Manyoperations are done by themachines. I would like to share myrecent experiences with youall. On the 11th DecemberBaba answered my prayersand gave me the opportunityto be present at the recitingof the Amrit Vani at Mr andMrs Gupta’s house in Delhi,India. This was the mostamazing day of my life. I hadstarted the amrit vani inJanuary 2008 and it was myconstant yearning to bepresent at an amritvani withthe Gupta’s. This yearningbecame a reality on the 11thDecember. I had carried withme my Sai Satcharitra fromhome (South Africa), whichI had bought on one of myvisits to india many yearsago. Also a very dear friendof mine had asked me tobuy a packet baba’spendants and to take it to beblessed at the amrit vani.When we got there MrsGupta very lovingly askedme to place it at her shrine,as you can see in thephotos. To my amazement,Baba had blessed mysatcharitra and all thependants during theamritvani. He had alsoblessed all the prasad thatthe Guptas had placed at theshrine. He ate half a puri andthe dessert that Mrs Guptahad made and was placed inthe fridge was blessed withchandan. All this happenedduring the amritvani, right inour presence.The Amritvani has greatpowers and I am willing tohelp anybody in South Africawith any information that youmay require with regards tothe reciting.The Amrit Vani is recitedat my home inYellowwoodpark, Durban,south Africa on Thursdayfrom 11.00am to 12.00. I do not reside in oneplace. Butthe devotee didn't have themoney at that time, Nor didhe have any other means ofprocuring that amount.Nonetheless he felt calm andwas confident that he wouldobtain the money somehow.The creditor harassed himand would wait no longer. Atthat time many devotees ofBaba had gathered in hishome. They wanted to per-form naam sapthah (continu-ous chanting of the name ofa deity for seven days) at hishome in front of Baba's por-trait. The devotee gladlyagreed to this and the naamsapthah was started.The creditor seized theopportunity, thinking that hewould confiscate the debtor'shome at that time. He got aconfiscation warrant' andwent there. The naam jaaphad started and the debtorseeing the creditor went upto him and said, It's all right,you may take anything thatyou desire from my home,then I will have enough roomto carry on the festivities, andnaam sapthah.' At that timeBaba had such an influenceon the creditors' mind thathe tore up the warrant anddid not send it again.
