Conducted a health research study on the Time Gap between Diagnosisand Start of Anti -TB Treatment in three districts of Orissa (Keonjhar,Sundargarh and Mayurbhanj). The study showed a higher prevalence of TB, among males, particularly in the tribals communities of Sundargarhand northern Mayurbhanj. A more important finding was that there was asignificant time gap between males and females in resorting to treatmentMen had delayed the start of treatment more commonly than women. Therecommendations of the study were taken into consideration for futureplanning of control measures, both by DANTB and the state HealthDepartment.
