Dickinson County is one of the 105 counties in the state of Kansas. The 2007populations estimate lists the population to be 18,957. According to 2000 estimates, ithas 847.92 square miles in land area and a population density of 22.8 people persquare mile. The average household size is 2.4 persons (2000) and median householdincome is $ 38,311(2004) (US census Bureau).

As per the 2000 censussurvey, population of the county was 19,344 with a median age of 40 years. In 2000,Dickinson County had 20.6% of its population under the age of 15 years, 21.7% in theage group 15 to 34 years, 34.5% in the age group 35 years to 59 years and 23.4% of itspopulation above 60 years of age.
