ur Nation remains a nation at war - not just any war, but one that is a struggle for our very wayof life. As important as command of the high seas was to the 19th Century and command of the airwas during the 20th Century, so to will become the command of space during this century. Our de-pendence on space-based capabilities for the conduct of joint military operations has grown dramati-
cally in the last decade. These capabilities clearly provide us with an asymmetric warghting advan
-tage that we must preserve and expand. Air Force Space Command’s direct support to the CombatantCommanders protecting our Nation’svital interests remains at an all-time high.Whether the task is supporting Combatant
Commanders with vital warghting assets
deterring would-be adversaries, or assist-ing relief efforts across the globe, we’realways ready when our Nation calls.We’ve grown exponentially as acommand and a cohesive team, and areconstantly improving the support we pro-
vide to the joint ght through our forward
deployed Airmen, as well as the spaceand missile systems we employ fromour homeland.Clearly, this past year has shown the world what this command iscapable of as a team working together to provide our Nation and ourCombatant Commanders the undeniable advantage of space. 2007marks the command’s silver anniversary and celebrates the achieve-ments of our people and evolution of our weapon systems. As we
