 Quilt Square CountingFor the letter Q, we talk about quilts. I bring in somequilts from home to sit with in the book corner. We talk about how to make quilts and how they are similar anddifferent to other blankets.I cut various scraps into 2” squares for quilt squares. Atcounting, they can choose to count the number of quiltsquares out that are indicated on the page. They cando all one color or make a pattern with colors. I amalways sure to comment on their patterning and choiceof quilt layout. Counting and creativity go hand inhand!
