Dana Leigh Sterner—Pod Cast Creator

“Dana and crazy do not usuallygo together in the samesentence,” but she says thatpiercing her tongue when shewas 19 was her craziest act.However, she did overcomeher nerves to give parasailing atry!Dana started as a CIS inNovember 2007, and she’s alsothe one behind the idea tospotlight our team membersevery month. Dana lives withher boyfriend Michael in ahome he has in Little Canada (23 milecommute), and with their two cats,Fuzzer and Powder. She and Michaelhave been together for four and a half years.Dana really enjoys going to MinnesotaVikings games. One of her coolestexperiences is travelling to differentparts of the country every year to seethe Vikes play in a different stadium.She’s seen them play in sixdifferent stadiums otherthan the Metrodome.Dana likes to go out toconcerts (she’s seenhundreds of bands overthe last 20 years), tryingnew restaurants, drinkingwine and hanging out withfriends; and while shedoesn’t watch much TV, she does likewatching documentaries, and Sex andthe City episodes over and over again.Since she likes to take pictures, sheplans on getting a digital SLR camera todevelop her interest in photography.Even though she doesn’t do it veryoften, Dana also enjoys baking.Something that Dana would really liketo do is travel and explore as manyplaces as she can within this country,and all around the world. Her dreamvacation would be on the Turks andCaicos Islands, or anywhere there iscrystal blue water andwhite sandy beaches. Sofar the farthest she’stravelled from home is SanFrancisco, CA.

She’s been known to frequent a casino or twolooking for a game of craps, but Alane also likesto go out to dinner and hang out with the kids— James (15), Peyton (11), and William (8). Alaneand Darren have been together now for almost15 years, but she still likes to tell her Britishhusband that “the only two good things to comeout of England are the Beatles and America.”Alane likes to travel—the farthest she’s beenfrom home is Portugal. Some day she hopes tomove to Venice. Her dream vacation is theSeychelles. Besides her current home inWoodbury (20.77 milecommute), she’s also lived inConnecticut twice—1976-1978 & 1989-1991. She lovesto travel so much that sheeven dropped out of school atthe University of Minnesotato follow Nirvana, whichAlane now says is the craziest thing she’s everdone, despite how amazing she proclaims KurtCobain to be.The coolest experience Alane has shared isseeing the Rolling Stones in a bar smaller thanFirst Avenue. But Alane isn’t just an avid musicappreciator, she also plays piano, all classicalmusic, Bach being her favorite composer.Besides travelling, Alane enjoys baking andscrapbooking.
