No government action shall burden, abridge, or hinder this natural, fundamental right unless it is in furtherance of a compelling governmental interest and is the least restrictive means of furthering that compelling governmental interest. I have no doubt that the people of the state of Michigan will swiftly and overwhelmingly approve your proposed constitutional amendment. Today I am proud to be a Michigander!

By recognizing parenting as a fundamental right, and adding both a "compelling government interests" and "least means" tests on government actions that hinder this natural right, this proposed amendment will do great things to protect Michigan families.
