York, represented in Senate and 
 
 Assembly, do enact as follows:
 04/22/09 3 11287-03-91 Section 1. This act enacts into law major components oflegislation2 relating to the metropolitan transportation authority and themetropol-3 itan commuter transportation district. Each component iswholly
 
4 contained within a Part identified as Parts A through G. Theeffective5 date for each particular provision contained within such Part isset6 forth in the last section of such Part. Any provision in anysection7 contained within a Part, including the effective date of the Part,which8 makes reference to a section "of this act", when used in connectionwith9 that particular component, shall be deemed to mean and refer tothe10 corresponding section of the Part in which it is found. Section threeof11 this act sets forth the general effective date of this act.12 PART A13 Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 503 of the vehicle and trafficlaw14 is amended by adding a new paragraph (b-1) to read as follows:15
(b-1) Supplemental learner permit/license fee in the metropolitan

commuter transportation district. (i) In the metropolitancommuter
 17
transportation district, established by section one thousand twohundred 
 18
sixty-two of the public authorities law, upon passage of theknowledge
 19
test required to obtain a learner's permit, the applicant for acommer-
 20
cial driver's license shall be required to pay a supplemental fee oftwo
 21
dollars for each six months or portion thereof of the period of validity
 22
of a learner's permit or license which is or may be issued pursuantto
 23
the provisions of subparagraph (i) of paragraph (b) of thissubdivision.
