Abstract: This session will consider the emergence of 'Digital Heritage' as a credible and mature academic subject. Our museum practice and our museum research has evolved in the last 15 years from 'museum computing' to a subject we now recognise (with intellectual maturity) called 'digital heritage'. This presentation and discussion will explore the characteristics of this new subject (its status as a 'postdiscipline', its cross-disciplinary qualities, its internationalism, and its collaboration and partnership).
