Families below poverty levels 3
Etc I see a lot of negative things that occur in the southern region. There is an extensive use of drugs, murders, etc. I say this to say that we all need to lose some of our old habits we have andchange our ways. A lot of times it’s the adults that are trifling and those habits later leads to thechildren or youth that are nearby or close to the adult. A lot of children or young adults havetendencies to do what they see as oppose to what their told to do.
Findings: (Magnitude)
The number of African American families in 2006 in the southern regionthat are in poverty is a large problem today. I say this is a large problem because it affects the propagation of African Americans. In other words families that are below poverty level can affectthe natural reproduction of African Americans. Most people, especially young adults, tend to dowhat they see as oppose to what they’re told. Basically what I’m trying to say is that we don’twant to make it seem as not having enough is acceptable or natural, because it isn’t. Nor do wantour youth to think it is neither. We don’t want to make poverty seem like it’s a natural way of life. We want to live up to high standards and be able to do what we want when we want. This problem not only has a mezzo level affect (Tuskegee University, Department of Social Work;Quantitative Problem-Solving model, Appendix 1) but it has a macro level affect. In other wordsliving in poverty can affect the individual, the family, and the society as a whole. For instance, the data table shows that there are 1,054,000 black families in poverty in the south. On the other hand there are 2,078,000 white families in poverty. It only affects as a minority. We need to work together to make change happen. The cost of poverty expressed in terms of morbidity is verycostly. In other words poverty, in terms of being psychologically healthy is very expensive. Over time we learn what we see and begin to pick it up as a habit or a natural regimen.
