Sweet Kitty
Once upon a timeKitty was born a blind, deaf, and helpless kittenShe grew fast in a matter of weeksShe was adopted by the familyIn a loving homeWhen she was a young and aware kittenKitty loved to lap a glass of milk with her tongueOn the kitchen counterKitty loved to play games with humansAnd behave wildMewing incessantly, running, jumping, and swattingAs all human children doKitty came to be affectionately called “Crazy Kat”By a boy in the familyBecause she likes to be naughtyScratching at things andSwiping with her clawed pawKitty grew rapidlyA year after adoptionShe carried the litter of six kittens in pregnancyAnd gave life to the litterNurturing little blind, deaf, and helpless kittensWith her loving and tender careKitty came to be affectionately called “Mother Cat”By another boy in the familyKitty loved to hunt mice and shallowOne day she killed the pair of parent shallowThe family had to take care of orphan hatchlingsFor a short whileBecause she is a natural predatorAs nature intended
 
 
Kitty liked teasing the dog AbbyThey were friendsWhen not antagonistic to each otherKitty loved jumping on the sofa coach or bedTo curl up next to the personPurring in peace and with lovely affectionKitty loved being pettedBy human hands running through her silky furA decade passedKitty’s time had comeThe longer she lives in senior yearsThe more she feels sad as a solitary mammalIt came for her to be put downDeath comes to her painlesslyBecause she had served her purposeAs hunter and friendGo be with Abby who had passed onYou brought joy to the familyAs an energetic, active catSadness when you have to departAs an old, decrepit catDear KittyWe bid you adieuWith loveGoodbye, Mother Cat.
