This book, My Pakistan, is based on the Constitutional Petition filed inthe Lahore High Court on the 6
th
March, 1978 against the illegal andimproper detention of the late Mr. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (former Prime Ministerof Pakistan). It is by way of a rejoinder to the allegations made in thematerial placed before the Court by the military regime of General Zia ulHaque. This is the most important political document which will form avaluable portion of the political history of Pakistan. The 100-page foolscapmaterial, written by Mr. Z. A. Bhutto himself, was smuggled out of Pakistaninto London. The Foreword has been written by Mr. Mir Murtaza Bhutto, eldest sonof Mr. Bhutto. The post-hanging commentary on the events under thecaption “Nation-Builder”, the chapter of “Murder of a Trial”, and BegumNusrat Bhutto’s letter to Justice Anwar ul Haque, have made this book bothinteresting and informative. The publication of this book is still banned inPakistan. The former President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, the late Mr.Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, has given his own account and has exposed the designsof General Zia ul Haque’s Military Junta in overthrowing his constitutionalgovernment. In his petition he has described his detention as unlawful andmala fide. He has smashed the Pandora’s Box and has exposed thehollowness and depravity of the charges made against him. Mr. Bhutto hasmaintained that it was a part of a very big game and he was made a victimof a global conspiracy. In order to acquire this objective, false, malicious, andmost unfair allegations were made against him. The conspiracy was hatchedand carried out against him because he refused to compromise on hiscountry’s vital interests. Mr. Bhutto has wondered how two pages of perversereport has been made to wipe out his whole chronicle of unparalleled andunmatched contribution to Pakistan and its people. He has exposed thepresent rulers, Maulana Maudoodi and his lieutenants, Wali Khan, Brohi andothers, who were basically opposed to the creation of Pakistan itself.
