Assignments: A final take-home cumulative exam; two 5-page scene analysis papers
due: 10/6 and 11/17. The scene analyses are a close interpretation of a short sequence
from a selected film that carefully deconstructs what is happening in the scene and its
relevance to the rest of the picture.
Attendance for Monday afternoon film screening times (5-7.30 LAF 200) is optional,
but you MUST be responsible for seeing the films prior to class discussion.
Attendance atal l film and novel discussion dates, on the other hand, is
MANDATORY. More than three absences will adversely affect final grade.
