-got cut off- but basically you need the mechanisms which control trichome AND THC production, AS WELL AS those mechanisms which control movement of THC to trichomes as seen in plants such as Cannabis sativa.

Dan - While there are bacteria which have been harnessed as factories, in order to make hash you need both THC/trichomes and pressure. Should you combine the genetic elements of THC with some microorganism, there would simply by THC (the molecule) floating around. Unless you were to combine both the genetic components of THC production (enzyme) and the various controllers of trichome production (w

Perhaps this is an ignorant question to make in the shadow of such fine science, yet it is a thought i cannot rid. I have read about bacterium which are able to produce "foreign" molecules such as insulin. Although the biochemical pathway for THC is undoubtedly more complex, would it be possible to make hash in test tubes via a transgenic bacterium? answers would be greatly appreciated :) pe

Ahhh, this fabulous specimen of a book has provided me with many weeks of great reading, as well as expanding my biological understanding of the herb. Thankyou.
