TODAYS GAME: the Generals try to stop a 4-game losing skid tonight in game #3 of the 5-game road series at Tennessee...the Generals had 2 games cancelled in the last series at home vs. Huntsville (1-2)...the Generals are 1-6 against the Smokies this season after going 17-7 against the Smokies in 2012. 24-year-old Chance Ruffin makes his 10th career start and 10th of the season tonight. GENERALS RECAP: The Generals scored only 1 run and were swept in their doubleheader against the Tennessee Smokies on Monday. 1940 The Cardinals play their first night game at home losing to Brooklyn, 10-1, despite Joe Medwicks 5-for-5 performance that included three doubles. The honor of hosting the first evening tilt in St. Louis, that took place on May 24, was given to the Browns, after the two teams finally agreed to split the $150,000 cost of installing lights at Sportsmans Park, the ballpark they share. 1996 Jacksonville Suns (Tigers - AA) reliever Pamela Davis throws one scoreless inning of relief and gets the win in a minor league exhibition game against the Australian Olympic team becoming the first woman to pitch for a major league farm club.
