Next week we have a lot going on in the ElementarySchool. Our CMC Book Week will be taking place to pro-vide our students opportunities to learn more about howbooks are created by meeting with different authors andtaking part in storytelling sessions. Classes will each be as-signed to different times throughout the week. Our Chil-dren’s Musical Theater directed by Linell will be presenting“The Nightingale” performed by students in grades four andfive. They will be on stage in the Fine Arts Theatre for astudent performance on Wednesday April 29 at 1:00 p.m.,followed by an evening performance at 6:00 p.m. We look forward to watching our students sharing their singing andacting talents! It is at this time of the year that we start to receive a lot of questions about classes for the next school year. The aim of the process is to cre-ate balanced groups in terms of gender, language proficiency, academic needs, emotional and social dynamics and a mix of ethnicities. Students receiving Learning Support and ESL arealso distributed evenly across the classes. As much as possi-ble, we also try to place each child with at least one otherperson he/she works well with. The teachers of the grade are responsible for establishingthe classes their students are moving to.
