This is to advise the Court of the decision of the Supreme Court of Iowa in Varnum v.
Brien (Apr. 3,2009, 07-1499) N.W.2d , 2009 WL 874044 (Iowa). There, the court struck
down the state's prohibition against same-sex marriage on the ground that the ban violates the
equal protection guarantees of the Iowa Constitution.
