THANK YOU from Michael Pooler
Good afternoon. As you may have heard, the POOLER for Town Council campaign cameup short last night. I would like to thank all my campaign’s volunteers, supporters, endorsers, donors andespecially those who prayed for a better outcome in this 2013 Democratic Primary Election. I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Mayor Tim Dougherty and his slate of councilcandidates that did win: Michelle Dupree Harris, Michael Elms and Toshiba Foster. Ialso fully intend to continue as an active member of the Morristown Planning Board andto seek cooperative ways to improve our town. I would also like to recognize Jessica Williamson and Tom Alexander, the two otherPrimary Election contenders that did not win. Working together with them and theircampaigns, helped us be successful in organizing, planning and rallying the“independent voice” and offering Morristown voters a choice. As you might imagine, I am experiencing a whirlwind of emotion and will be taking alittle bit of time to reflect on this campaign and learn from the experience. I intend to formulate a new plan – after consulting with our campaign’s friends andsupporters – and begin mapping out what’s next in my public service future. I hope toremain an influential voice in Morristown politics and will continue to promote and actupon my campaign theme: “meaningful dialogue leads to cooperative solutions.” So we’re dusting ourselves off a bit today, and getting ready to keep this movementgoing tomorrow and the next day and the one after that! Thank you again.
