PER CURIAM:In this sexual harassment/wrongful discharge case allegingvarious federal and North Carolina state law claims, PaulaTownsend (Plaintiff) appeals from the magistrate judge’s grantof summary judgment in favor of: (1) Mark Shook, individuallyand in his official capacity as Sheriff of Watauga County, NorthCarolina; (2) Watauga County; and (3) Western Surety Company.We affirm in part, vacate in part, and remand for furtherproceedings consistent with this opinion.

 I.In 1986, Plaintiff was hired as an administrative clerk forthe Watauga County Sheriff’s Office by her close family friend,then Sheriff James Lyons (Sheriff Lyons).

Under Sheriff Lyons,Plaintiff served as a criminal investigator and later as adetective sergeant in the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.
