SpannI have been recycling since I was seven years old. My brother and I found a way to makeextra money in addition to our weekly allowance. We collected soda cans and saved themto take to the grocery store in New York. We drank all the soda we could just to make that$3.40 a piece. My mom caught on to what we were doing and she continued to buy sodaand juice for us in can form anyway. As I got older I joined the girl scouts and 4-H clubs,I continued to recycle and give back to the earth an encourage you to do the same withthe economy not in a surplus, now is an even better time to begin to “go green”.Today recycling is on a much broader scale a world wide scale. According to theconsumer recycling guide you can recycle just about anything: clothes, plastic, glass, grocery bags, aluminum cans, foil, white office paper, newspapers, cardboard, phone books, waxed cartons, refrigerators, heat pumps, air conditioners, computer printers, rechargeable batteries, motor oil, and compost (which is simple plant matter from theyard that can be recycled to make plant food and it also saves water)!http://www.obviously.com/recycle/guides/common.html.What is going green exactly? It is a phrase referring to action that a person or agroup that takes to remove harmful effects on the environment. It is also a socialmovement centered on a concern for the improvement of the natural environment. I wantto encourage you to “go green”, recycling is very important as waste has a huge negativeimpact on the environment. Environmental Education.com states recycling is one of the best ways for you to have a positive impact on the world in which we live. Recycling isimportant to both the natural environment and to us. We must act fast as the amount of waste we create is rapidly increasing.http://environmentaleducation.webs.com/learn.htm.
