Lithium uses and origins
Used as a mood stabilizer in the treatmentof bipolar disorder.Lithium must be used carefully as thedosages used for the treatment in humansis only slightly lower than toxic amounts.Blood levels should be carefullymonitored. Therapeutic levels rangebetween 0.4 to 0.8 mmol/l. Toxic rangeusually 1.5 mmol/l, but may begin at 1.0.

Comgratulations, it's pretty useful and easily understanding for patients

Thanks for your comment on the lithium slide show. It was put together really from personal experience of someone who takes lithium and experienced toxicity, and the importance of how lithium should be monitored and managed. Changes are no taking place in UK for lithium patients, and will be issued with monitoring packs, giving similar information, and to share blood results. Thanks
