Dear Fifth Grade Parents, As many of you are in the middle school decision-making process now, we at the Brooklyn

Urban Garden Charter School (BUGS) want to let you know that we have room on our waitlist. Our admissions are open to all current 5th graders, regardless of school district of residence. BUGS is located at 500 19th Street, Brooklyn 11215 (in the Bishop Ford High School) BUGS is a rigorous, innovative, inclusive middle school that: focuses on hands-on science, enables students to experience ongoing, hands-on fieldwork in local outdoor settings and cultural institutions in NYC, prepares students to attend the high school of their choice and take charge of their learning, engages all of Brooklyn's diverse learners to improve their own lives and collective future, provides an interdisciplinary, research-driven and child-centered middle school for Brooklyn. We are a locally-grown school with a national perspective, governed by an exceptionally qualified Board of Trustees, and run by a team of dynamic, committed and experienced leaders and teachers. Our Principal, Linda Rosenbury, is a Yale graduate, a former Childrens School teacher, and served for five years as Principal of MS 22 in the Bronx. Christine Kang, our Director of Operations, comes to BUGS after seven years at the American Museum of Natural History, as the Director of Traveling Exhibition Operations.
