Leading Seattle and Portland Hip Hop Labels Join for Premiere Show 
SEATTLE, WA – April 21, 2009 –
Sportn’ Life Records and Focused Noise Records todayannounced that they are joining forces for a premiere hip hop showcase. Sportn’ Life Record’scrown jewel, D.Black, will perform live, along with some of the region’s hottest hip hop players:Seattle’s Fatal Lucciauno and Spaceman; and Portland favorites Animal Farm, Mic Crenshawand Serge Severe.“Seattle and Portland have been allies for a long time and this partnership illustrates their commitment to putting the region’s hip hop talent on the map,” said DeVon Manier, CEO/Co-Owner, Sportn’ Life Records. “The Northwest has always been known for its grunge and indierock music talent but we’re finally attracting national attention as a hip hop music hotbed. Wehope this show will spearhead a leap into national promotions.”Each label’s artists will go round for round in this exciting display of battle inspiredshowmanship.

Sportn’ Life Records was founded in 2002 by DeVon Manier and Emery “Slim” Buford. In 2005,the labels flagship artist D.Black took over as company co-owner/operator. Since then Manier and Black have had an unbelievable impact on their regional music community and theycontinue to penetrate the national market. With four full length releases and numerous singlesunder their belt, Sportn’ Life’s reputation for well-built independence has garnered themrecognition by the city as they were nominated for the “Mayor’s Award for Excellence in HipHop”, in 2006. The labels artists continue to be featured at the city’s most esteemed musicfestivals and maintain a steady fan base. The artists have also opened for some of the genrestop names, such as; Nas, and The Wu Tang Clan, and Roc-A-Fella Records Freeway to name afew. Most recently D.Black and Spaceman were both featured on the Rhymesayers recordsrelease of Jake One’s White Van Music. D.Black appeared as the only Seattle artist with a solosong. Fatal Lucciauno’s “Only Forgotten Son” LP was selected in URB’s next 1,000, and votedbest solo hip hop album by the Stranger magazine in 2007. Currently Sportn’ Life has inked adistribution deal with Burnside from Portland, Oregon and will be releasing D.Black’s highlyanticipated sophomore release “Rejuvenation”. Fatal Lucciauno will releasing a new digital epthis year, and break out artist Spaceman will unleash a slew of mixtapes and ep’s to continuegenerating the instantaneous buzz he’s so openly received. Plans for a full length debut LP arein the works for Spaceman in 2010. After seven years in the business Sportn’ Life’s sound, andoutlook may change, but the vision to release quality music from artist in Northwest urbancommunities still remains the same. About Focused Noise Records
Focused Noise Productions was founded in 2001 in Los Angeles by Erik Abel (Gen.Erik fromAnimal Farm) and Cale Bunker, when they released Gen.Erik’s “Seven Deadly Songs” EP, withDJ Aero from Methods of Mayhem. In 2006, Gen.Erik and DJ Aero joined Mic Crenshaw, aPortland , Oregon poetry slam champion and national finalist, to form Cleveland Steamers, andreleased “Treasure Chest”, which was praised by Okayplayer, Hiphopdx.com, Rapreviews.com,and many more publications.
