What is Montalvo? We are often asked this qestion. Simply pt, Montalvo is an arts legacy in Silicon Valley. It is a beatifl historic Villa withmltiple performance venes and miles of hiking trails, on 175 stnning acres of open space in the midst of an rban landscape. Left to thepeople of California by the state’s rst elected senator, James Phelan, for the advancement of art, architectre and msic, Montalvo today is anonprot, member-spported arts center.Or mission is to foster commnity engagement throgh the creation and presentation of mltidisciplinary art, niting the broadest possibleadiences with a global commnity of artists. We do this throgh or diverse arts programs, inclding:

This smmer Montalvo lanches an exciting concert series presented by
livE NAtiON
in its renowned Garden Theatre. We also have a varietyof programs happening year-rond: we present jazz, folk, rock and classical concerts, pblic programs, and theatre/dance performances in theCarriage Hose Theatre and Villa. Montalvo reaches ot to approximately 20,000 stdents throgh or school programs. We invite more than 60artists to be in residence at the Lcas Artists Residency Program and commission new work in the literary, performance and visal arts. And wepreserve and maintain the historic Villa and its gronds. We are passionate abot what we do and we hope to expand the role of arts and cltreas an essential commnity resorce.
