Paid announcement by Mukhtar Mukhtar of the Shareholders' Trustees Association of Nigeria presenting alleged evidence of the manipulation of the share price of Chevron by Femi Otedola, CEO and chairman of African Petroleum, a public company, and Zenon Petroleum Oil and Gas, a privately held company.
In recent weeks, the allegations and counter allegations of share price manipulation by proxies of both Femi Otedola and Alhaji Dangote has drawn a lot of public and regulator interest, with concerns about the quality of surveillance on the market as well as the basis of valuation/trading multiples of public companies on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
