Fortnight for Freedom: From June 21 to July 4, Catholics across our nation are observing a Fortnight for Freedom. During this period, consider praying the Prayer for Religious Liberty, included as an insert this week. You are encouraged to keep informed about religious liberty, life, marriage and family, community, education and social justice issues of importance to the Church by becoming a faithful citizen advocate through the Catholic Conference of Kentucky. Youth Ministry: A reminder that permission forms and payments for the Kings Island trip must be turned in this Sunday, June 16th. Laura Zoeller, Coordinator of Youth Ministry, and three of our youth will be attending the Notre Dame Vision Retreat in South Bend, IN, from June 24-28th. Please keep them in your prayers. How the Catholic Church Developed: Week 6 of 10 DVD study, Epic: The Early Church, continues on Thursday evening at 6:30 PM and Friday morning, at 10:30 AM. The Baby Bottle Boomerang fundraiser for Little Way Pregnancy Center in Louisville began on Mothers Day and you are reminded to return your bottle filled with checks, currency and/or silver coins, today, Fathers Day, June 16th. The Knights of Columbus Chicken Dinner: The All Saints Council invites you to their all-you-can-eat chicken dinner today, June 16th from 12:30 -2:00PM in the Parish Hall. Featured are broasted chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, butter noodles, and all kinds of desserts. Prices, which include drink and dessert, are $8.00 for adult, $4.00 for children 4-12, and children 3 and under eat free. Proceeds go to fund their charitable work- your support is appreciated. Hosparus Volunteer Training: Volunteers are needed in the Spencer County area to help with patient/family support, and in other areas. Diaconate Information Sessions: The application submission period for the next Diaconate Formation Class, the five year program which begins in July, 2015, has begun and continues through March, 2015. Men who are interested in exploring a call to the Diaconate, and if married, his wife, are encouraged to attend an Information Session. The next two sessions are scheduled for St. Joseph Church in Bardstown, on June 23rd, and at St. Martin DePorres on August 25th, both from 2-4:00 PM. Spencer County Relay for Life: This weekend was the community fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, and our All Saints team would like to thank those of you who made a contribution and those who participated. The Covenant Churches Vacation Bible School, Everywhere Fun Fair, Where Gods World Comes Together begins this week, Monday through Friday, June 17-21st, at Taylorsville United Methodist Church (TUMC.) A light supper will be served at 6:00 PM, and the program runs from 6:30-8:00. The Covenant Churches are Taylorsville United Methodist, First Christian Church of Taylorsville/Disciples of Christ and All Saints.
