cl Subject: AVISO IMPORTANTE POSTULACION FONDECYT/ IMPORTANT NOTICE FONDECYT APPLICATION Date: Fri, 24 May 2013 22:15:14 -0400 Estimado(a) postulante de Regular 2014, Iniciacion 2013, Postdoctorado 2014 e investigador(a) patrocinante: Informo a usted que, debido a los errores de funcionamiento que ha presentado la plataforma de postulacion en linea, los cuales no podran ser solucionados en el corto plazo, el Programa FONDECYT ha decidido que las postulaciones de Postdoctorado 2014, Iniciacion en Investigacion 2013 y Regular 2014, solo se realizaran en version PDF, por lo cual se deshabilitara la opcion de postular a traves de la actual plataforma en linea a las 24 horas de hoy viernes 24 de mayo. Por lo anterior, para postular a estos concursos deberan enviar la propuesta de investigacin en un archivo PDF a la Institucion Patrocinante, por la via que esta defina para su recepcion. Quienes hayan iniciado una postulacin en el sistema, enviado a firma o cuenten con un proyecto patrocinado, podran recuperar el PDF con la informacion registrada en el sitio de postulacion, la cual estara disponible hasta la fecha de cierre del concurso y completar o utilizar a modo de referencia el formulario correspondiente a cada concurso que se encuentra disponible en la pagina web www.conicyt.cl/fondecyt/. Para convertir un archivo PDF a Word le recomendamos utilizar alguna de las siguientes opciones: http://www.wondershare.es/ http://pdf2word.uptodown.com/ En el caso de los proyectos de Postdoctorado, que requieren cartas de recomendacion, los(las) recomendadores(as) pueden completar el formato disponible en la pagina web de CONICYT/FONDECYT y enviar la carta en formato PDF al correo postulacion.fondecyt@conicyt.cl, indicando nombre del (de la) postulante. Si las cartas se encuentran recibidas en el sistema en linea, seran recuperadas por CONICYT y no tendra que solicitarlas nuevamente. Para los Concursos de Iniciacion 2013 y Postdoctorado 2014: Se sugiere que los(las) postulantes envien a las instituciones patrocinantes los PDF de su postulacion hasta el lunes 3 de junio de 2013. Las instituciones patrocinantes tendran plazo para subir las postulaciones a un sitio que sera habilitado por CONICYT, hasta el lunes 10 de junio a las 16:00 hrs. (hora chilena continental). Adicionalmente, las instituciones patrocinantes deberan enviar a FONDECYT un ejemplar impreso de cada propuesta patrocinada hasta el jueves 13 de junio de 2013. Para el Concurso Regular 2014: Se mantienen las fechas de postulacion indicadas en el llamado a concurso. Por tanto, se sugiere

que las instituciones recepcionen las propuestas al 19 de junio de 2013, en consideracion a que debern ingresar las postulaciones al sitio habilitado por CONICYT al 02 de julio de 2013 hasta las 16:00 hrs. (hora chilena continental). La copia en papel sera recepcionada en FONDECYT hasta el viernes 05 de julio de 2013. El Programa FONDECYT lamenta estos inconvenientes y el trabajo adicional que esto significara para los(las) investigadores(as). Sin embargo, esto permitira concluir exitosamente los procesos de postulacion a los concursos. Dear applicant to FONDECYTs 2014 Regular, 2013 Initiation into Research, 2014 Postdoctoral Principal Investigator and Sponsoring Researcher This is to inform you that due to the online application platform failures, which are unlikely to be resolved in the near future, FONDECYT has decided that funding applications to the 2014 Regular, 2014 Postdoctoral Research and 2013 Initiation into Research competitions must be submitted in PDF format. The online platform to start new applications will shut down this Friday 24 May at midnight. In light of the above decision, to apply to the cited funding competitions applicants shall send a PDF file to the sponsoring institution(s) following their submission instructions. Those applicants, who initiated, submitted to institutional sponsorship or whose proposals are already sponsored, will be able to obtain the PDF form from the application site until the closing date of the respective funding competition and to complete or use the appropriate application form available at www.conicyt.cl/fondecyt/. For PDF to Word conversions we suggest the following options: http://www.wondershare.es/ http://pdf2word.uptodown.com/ For Postdoctoral proposals, in need of recommendation letters, recommenders may complete the form available in CONICYT/FONDECYTs website and mail them in PDF format to postulacion.fondecyt@conicyt.cl. The applicants name must be shown in the subject area. Letters already received via the online site, will be retrieved by CONICYT, thus there will be no need to request them again.

For 2013 Initiation into Research and 2014 Postdoctoral Grants Applications 2014: We suggest applicants to submit the proposal to the sponsoring institution by Monday 3 june 2013. Sponsoring Institutions will upload proposals to a CONICYT-defined site until Monday 10 June 2013 at 4:00 PM Chilean Continental Time. In addition, Sponsoring Institutions must send a paper copy of each sponsored proposal no later than Thursday 13 June 2013. For 2014 Regular Competition: The closing date of the competition remains as previously established. Thus, it is suggested that Sponsoring Institutions receive proposals by 19 June 2013 taking into account that the deadline to upload proposals to the CONICYT-defined site expires 02 July 2013 at 4:00 PM Chilean Continental Time. The paper copy of the sponsored proposals must be received by FONDECYT no later than Friday 5 July 2013. The FONDECYT Program regrets these inconveniences and the added extra work involved to all researchers.
