KEYNOTES:
NO SECONDS FOR BERRY: Second innings have been by far Tim Berrys worst this season, allowing 13 runs, 11 earned, in 12 of them. His 8.25 ERA in the second is the worst of any inning in which hes thrown more than one, and batters are hitting .333 with two homers against him in the frame. TRIPLE MACHINE: Keys catcher Michael Ohlman might be the slowest runner on the team, but hes Fredericks best triples hitter. He hit two more last night to up his total to four, tying him for third-most in the Carolina League and putting him just one shy of the league lead. Both his triples last night were the result of misplayed fly balls one a near-collision, the other lost in the lights but they count just the same. BACK FROM SAN JOSE: Seven Pelicans and Keys traveled to San Jose for the California-Carolina League All-Star Game on Tuesday, which Carolina won 12-2. Pelicans ace Luke Jackson started the game and threw a scoreless first inning and Keys left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez tossed a scoreless second. Myrtle Beachs Alec Asher and Nick Martinez both pitched an inning as well, Asher allowing a run on two hits. Pelicans second baseman Rougned Odor started at second and shortstop Luis Sardinas entered the game in the fifth inning and drove in a pair of runs. Keys catcher Zane Chavez was in uniform, but did not play due to an oblique injury.

This Day in Keys History

June 22, 1996: Sidney Ponson threw seven shutout innings, scattering seven hits and striking out six batters, in a 5-1 Keys win against Wilmington. David Dellucci went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Rick Short drove in a pair of runs in front of their home crowd at Harry Grove Stadium.
