This is my Forward and or Preface to this electronic version of the American Standard Version 1901Bible. Due to manmade errors of electronic versions released on the web, this electronic version is verified by a published version released by Star Bible Publications, Inc., Fort Worth, TX.The Cover and Prefaces were furnished to me from scanned copies of a 1st Edition of the ASV1901. I believe that these are also available on the Internet.The main text of this bible was brought into this document through the following web site:http://www.asv1901.com/.Two things I decided to do that don’t follow the ASV 1901. In the footnotes, changes are as follows:1.
To give full book names instead of the abbreviations.2.
Converting the i, ii, iii, iv, etc…chapter numbering to its numerical value. This was mainly used inthe New Testament when a book chapter from the Old Testament was referenced.Since the Apocrypha books were not part of the 1901 release, those books referenced in footnotes arenot spelled out. Was thinking of removing them from the footnotes, but left them there to keep the 1901ASV intact.My goal is to give to you a complete accurate version, word for word of the ASV1901 bible as humanly possible. I believe by the grace of God that this final edition is a completed word for word of the ASV1901. Being human there is still a margin or error, but i pray not.Being that the copy write has expired on this edition and is part of public domain.
