org STATEMENT BY CONSERVATIVE LEADERS SUPPORTING THE HOEVEN/CORKER BORDER SECURITY AMENDMENT Washington, D.C. Today conservative leaders announced their support for the Hoeven/Corker Amendment in the Senate and urge all conservative Senators to vote for the passage of this amendment today. We are a group of organizations advocating fiscal and social conservative ideals. We strongly believe that meaningful immigration reform is a priority and that all Americans will benefit from its passage. The signatories are representative of our movement and are urging action in the Senate to assure a significant majority vote in final passage. The time is now for Congress to act to fix our broken borders and de facto amnesty, and ensure that conservative principles are reflected in the immigration legislation. We applaud and support the efforts by Senators Bob Corker and John Hoeven to strengthen border security provisions by writing specifics into law, including: doubling of the number of border patrol agents, completing 700 miles of fencing along the southern border, investment in border security technology, restrictions on Social Security benefits, mandating E-Verify for employers, and building entry and exit visa systems. These concrete triggers will inspire confidence that we will not have another wave of illegal immigrants in the future and ensure that Registered Provisional Immigrants will not receive Green Cards until these are implemented.
