LEARNING THROUGH SHARING -- Believing that learning is a lifelong process, the first batch of 31 neophyte- members of the House of Representatives (HRep) for the incoming 16th Congress are all focused on their participation in the first-ever Executive Course on Legislation strongly supported by Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. which began at the Executive House at the University of the Philippines, Diliman yesterday. House Secretary General, Atty. Marilyn Barua-Yap (upper right) and UPNational College of Public Administration and Governance Dean Edna E.A. Co (lower left) led the opening rites of the three-day training program jointly undertaken by the HRep Secretariat and the UP-NCPAG. Dean Co briefed the new lawmakers on the first day on the Philippine Administrative System. Incoming President of the Philippine Institute for Development Studies, Dr. Gilbert Llanto likewise shared his expert insights on the Philippine Development Plan and the Economy, while Veteran Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman explained the intricacies and benefits of the Priority Development Assistance. UP President Alfredo Pascual, with Speaker Belmonte as special guest of honor, hosted an early-evening dinner for the participants to cap the first day of the event.
