Additional archery permits or youth:
Youth who want to participate in the 2013general-season archery buck deer hunt shouldhave a airly easy time obtaining a permit. TheUtah Wildlie Board approved additional over-the-counter archery permits or youth. To learnmore about this opportunity, see the article onpage 22.
New $5 predator-control ee:
In 2012,the Utah Legislature passed a law that adds a$5 ee to all Utah big game hunting permits.The ee is unding a new program to controlpredators, particularly coyotes. For details, visit

Who makes the rules?
The Utah Wildlie Board passes the rulesand laws summarized in this guidebook.There are seven board members, andeach serves a six-year term. Appointed by thegovernor, board members are not Divisionemployees.The Division’s director serves as the board’sexecutive secretary but does not have a vote onwildlie policies.Beore board members make changes towildlie rules, they listen to recommendationsrom Division biologists.
