SMJK Chung Hwa : Students’ English Corner
Kidnapped
Brought 2U by Lim Ee Jane
Lying on the most comfortable and cozy bed I have ever slept on, I glazed at thefan on the ceiling which was spinning in a rapid manner, dizziness did not even engulf my mind for the most terrifying experience that I had gone through a day ago keptlingering in my mind so vividly and real. It seemed to be sculptured deeply in my brainand came to my mind once in a while whenever I was in calmness, especially when I wasabout to settle myself in myself in my sweet dream. Weariness did not make an affect for  perhaps I had to go through another sleepless night. To me, it was really the most hall-rising experience that I had ever come across inmy life. It was certainly a bolt from the blue as I had not expected of being kidnapped aswhat were shown in the drama series. The bad experience occurred three days ago. As aroutine, I would walk back home after attending a tuition class which ends at about 10 atnight as the tuition centre was just a stone’s throw away from my house. I was always inextreme tiredness at the moment. The strong desire of climbing into my lovely bed mademe decide to reach home earlier and faster than following the actual path home. To usethe short-cut, I had to pass through a short yet dark, narrow road between twomagnificent office buildings.I had been using the path home for several times and was sure that nothing wouldhappen with nobody along the small pathway. Although I knew that the way of gettinghome faster could be threatening my life. I was too innocent to have thought of being akarate-do learner, I would be able to defend and protect myself from whatever harms thatcould hurt me, as when I was striving with my opponent during a karate-do competition. Idid not even realize that I had been making my capability for granted. The thoughtremained in my mind until the unfortunate event finally took place on me. Perhaps for teaching me an unforgettable and useful lesson. As usual, I walked as fast as I could from the tuition centre, almost running, along the short-cut path in order to reach home as quickly as possible. I did not evenexpect something to be happening on me as fate has always on my side before that. WhenI reach the dark and frightening pathway. I felt eerie beads of sweat began to appear onmy temple as well as forehead. Gust of wind that unusually chilly, sent shivers down myspine and kept my legs trembling in coolness. I increase my speed of walking so that Iwould come to the end of the road as fast as I could and get away from this scaring place. It could not remember when but at a time when I was halfway through the path, I heardthe gentle sounds of footsteps following my every step. My heartbeat faster and harder asif it would jump out of my mouth anytime.I knew that someone was behind me, following me closely as I could feel the breath of a person which seems to be so near to me. Just as I was about to take flight asfast as possible, as long as I was away from the eerie path, my mouth was gaggedinstantly by a strong and big hand. I wanted to scream my whole lung cut but my soundseemed to be hidden deep in my throat that all I could produce was the sound as soft as
